- School of Music Announces Seachrist as Director The College of the Arts at Kent State University has recently named Dr. Denise A. Seachrist as the director of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music, where she has served as interim director since 2008. Previously she served as interim dean for Academic and Student Services, Regional Campuses and as interim assistant dean of the Trumbull Campus. Seachrist earned a Ph.D. in musicology-ethnomusicology from Kent State University, and a master of music in vocal performance from Youngstown State University. She holds a bachelor of music degree from Heidelberg College.
- Posted Aug. 9, 2010 - College of the Arts Names New Associate Dean The College of the Arts of Kent State University announces the appointment of Dr. Ralph Lorenz to associate dean. Prior to serving as associate dean, Dr. Lorenz was an associate professor of music theory in the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and was instrumental in creating the master of music education online program.

- Posted Aug. 4, 2010 - Douglas Steidl Named New Dean of the College of Architecture Douglas L. Steidl, FAIA, of Peninsula, Ohio, will become dean of Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, effective July 1, announced Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Robert G. Frank. Steidl replaces James Dalton, who will return to a faculty position following the completion of a two-year appointment as dean of the college.
- Posted May. 7, 2010 - Kent State's School of Art Gallery Announces Fall Season Kent State University's School of Art announces its fall season of exhibitions in the School of Art Gallery located in the Art Building off of Terrace Drive. The exhibits include Centennial Alumni Exhibition: Firsts; Al Bright; and B.F.A. Exhibitions, Crafts and Fine Arts. The exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public.
