The Bb Learn Conversion Quick Guide is intended for faculty that already have online courses in Web CT/Vista8.
If you do NOT currently have any online courses, or are interested in creating a brand new course in Bb Learn please refer to the information in the New Course Development Quick Guide.
Starting fall semester of 2012 all online courses at Kent State University will be delivered via Bb Learn. Beginning fall semester 2011, faculty have the option of migrating Vista8 courses to the new learning management system, Bb Learn, or continuing to teach from their Vista8 course.
Please note, if you choose not to migrate your course(s) by fall 2012, your course will automatically be moved to the new learning management system for you.
Follow the steps below to migrate your Vista8 course to Bb Learn:
Once your course has been migrated, it is critical that you review your course(s) to make sure all of the content has copied over. Depending on the organization of your course content in Vista8, you may need to reorganize how materials are delivered/revealed to students. You will also want to explore some of the new tools available to you in Bb Learn.
In order to view your course(s), login to Bb Learn using your FlashLine user ID and password. You can login directly to Bb Learn at http://learn.kent.edu or by logging into your FlashLine account and clicking the "Blackboard" icon then clicking on the "Log in to Learn" button.
The following resources are available to help you convert your course from Vista8 to Bb Learn:
If you would like additional assistance, please contact the Educational Technologist assigned to your course(s) or submit a ticket to the KSU Helpdesk to set-up an appointment for hands-on help from the Blackboard Learn support staff.
