Catch the Fever

Kent State's athletes hit the field and the court ready to compete, and they also hit the classrooms ready to learn. And the scores they rack up on exams and during games prove that they are succeeding.

Of the 445 students tracked by the athletic department (including team members, members of the cheerleading squad and team trainers), 34 students earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) during the fall semester, and an additional 206 students attained a GPA of 3.0 or higher, said Cathy O'Donnell, associate athletic director for academic and student services.

When it comes to graduation rates, Kent State’s student-athletes also match or exceed the national rankings for student-athletes competing in their division.
