(A) The university recognizes the necessity of maintaining a program of employment for its students which provides student financial assistance, work experience and service. It is the policy of the university to employ students on a part-time basis whenever possible, but not to displace or reduce full-time job opportunities
(B) The establishment of eligibility criteria and procedures for student employment is the responsibility of the director of the career services center.
(C) Student employees will be paid in accordance with the student pay plan and classification plan, as approved by the board. Classification title and hourly rate will be based upon the nature of the job. All student positions vacancies throughout the Kent State University system must be listed with the career services center.
(D) Because of irregular work assignments, student employees will not earn annual longevity step increases, nor will they receive vacation, sick leave, or holiday pay. Further, student employees are not eligible to apply for a leave of absence.
(E) The university's student employment programs are subject to and will de administered in accordance with applicable federal and state law and statutes governing employment practices.
