Speaker - Dr. Julie Mazzei
A Summer Teaching Development Grant from the University Teaching Council facilitated the creation of this new course, designed to focus on the myriad of ways in which KSU students are connected to their global community. Looking specifically at the ways in which we are interconnected as consumers, patients, donors and participants in discourse, the course introduces students to the concepts, institutions and dynamics of globalization. The course contributes in a pedagogically innovative way to the University and department goals of both educating students about globalization and empowering them as citizens of a global community. The substance and design of the course, as well as the ways in which it empowers students and contributes to the goals of the University, will be the central discussion at this â€Ĺ“brown bag†meeting.
