Travel warnings are issued when the State Department recommends that Americans avoid a certain country. Before travelling to any country that has a travel warning, you should have approval from your department EO's Office. Click here for current countries under travel warning.
In addition to the travel warning list, the State Department issues Consular Information Sheets for every country of the world with information such as matters of health conditions, crime, unusual currency or entry requirements, any areas of instability, political considerations, and the location of the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the subject countryClick here to obtain Counsular Information Sheets.
