Ryan joined Kent State’s Office of Global Education in October 2011 as one of the primary advisors in International Student and Scholar Services. He advises on immigration issues related to F and J visas, assists students in preparing materials for a variety of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) applications, and counsels students on a wide range of cultural and personal issues.
In addition to advising, Ryan is involved in event planning and programming, including regional trips, International Student Orientation and International Education Week. Ryan has served as the Campus Coordinator for IREX’s UGRAD – Pakistan Program and is the Academic Program Director for VITA Tax Preparation Workshops. He maintains relationships with community stakeholders, including local property managers, to ensure that international student needs are being met. He has represented Kent State University at education fairs in India, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar.
Ryan graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in December 2011 with a Master’s degree in International Affairs. He studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain and graduated from the SUNY University at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish in 2009.
