Carissa Bowlin
Ms. Bowlin is currently a MPH student in Health Policy and Management at Kent State University’s College of Public Health and holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Relations from Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Ms. Bowlin has over 7 years of marketing and public relations experience and is currently working with the City of Canton Mayor’s Office to develop their Landbank program as part of the Beautiful Canton initiative. In her Graduate Assistant role she is increasing awareness of all College of Public Health programs which is leading to substantial growth in both offerings and enrollment. In her MPH program, her research projects include the built environment’s relation to physical activity and the government’s role in supporting a healthy food environment. Her areas of interest include community, environment and policy level health prevention interventions.
