Public Health graduate and undergraduate students are highly encouraged to study away/abroad to help connect their classroom learning and to gain exposure to other cultures and areas of the world.
In fact, students pursuing a concentration Global Health are required to study away as part of their degree requirements.
A Semester Away
Kent State University has residence halls in Geneva, Switzerland and Florence, Italy and many global partnerships including China, India, Turkey and beyond. As long as there is access to the Internet, Public Health students can study anywhere in the world and stay on-track with their degree, as a majority of Public Health courses are online. Public Health students are encouraged to study in Geneva, Switzerland due to several opportunities with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations and other non-governmental organizations. Internships are available for Geneva students in organizations such as the Red Cross, World Council of Churches and the World Health Organization. Two-Week Classes Away
Short-term study away opportunities abound. Public Health offers global study abroad/away programs as do other colleges. Ongoing Public Health Summer Intersession three-credit hour programs include:
