Programs and Research

We invite students at all stages of their careers from entry level to mid-level and senior management to advanced researcher to explore the program that is right for you:

• For students just beginning their careers we offer the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (B.S.P.H.)  in seven concentration areas.  We also offer a 18-credit hour certificate and a minor in Public Health for non-public health majors.  Courses are available both online and on-campus.
• For students that have completed their undergraduate degree and want to prepare for or advance their career in health management we offer the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in five specializations.
• For advanced students wanting to gain specialized research skills we offer the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in three specializations.

Students can also experience public health globally in Geneva, Switzerland, Colombia, Argentina, and other international locations.  You can learn from experts around from the world and experience firsthand how public health is making a difference in the world.

Our faculty have trained at some of the best universities in the U.S. and bring years of experience with them to the classroom and laboratory.  They welcome students to work alongside them on cutting edge research projects in areas such as substance abuse prevention, environmental disease agents, health literacy and health systems change, violence prevention, injury prevention and sports injuries, chronic disease prevention, and a variety of other exciting research topics.

To ensure the integrity of these programs we enforce the Kent State University policy which defines academic dishonesty, potential sanctions, and the administrative process of imposing and reviewing those sanctions.
