Faculty Proposal Incentive Fund

New Faculty Proposal Incentive Fund - Receive Up To $500 Incentive for Submitting Grant Proposals [Download Flyer]

The Division of Research and Graduate Studies has implemented a new incentive program for faculty interested in acquiring external funding for research, instructional or public service projects. The program, which runs from January 1 to June 30, 2008, will award faculty 1 percent of the proposed external budget amount for submitting the proposal, with a maximum incentive of $500. The funds will be transferred to an incentive account after the completion and submission of both the proposal transmittal and the conflict of interest forms, and can be used for any university-approved expense. The new incentive will be in addition to the current faculty incentive, which is based upon a portion of the overhead generated on funded external projects.

For more information about these incentives and identifying funding opportunities from outside sources, please contact the Kent State University Sponsored Programs Office at 330-672-2070 or e-mail cheimlic@kent.edu. Staff members are available to meet with faculty to discuss research or other project interests and to suggest potential funding sources to support those interests.

The Sponsored Programs Office assists the Kent State University community in identifying funding opportunities from outside sources for research, instructional, and public service programs. The office also authorizes and oversees administration of all sponsored projects, grants, contracts, and other agreements from government agencies, private industry, and non-profit funding agencies.
