Summer Awards Information for Regional Campus Faculty
In addition to being eligible for research and teaching awards through the University Teaching Council and University Research Council, Regional Campus faculty may compete for these special summer awards of $10,000 offered by the Regional Campus system. Faculty are encouraged to read the guidelines carefully to learn about the awards for which they are eligible and to allow plenty of time in preparing proposals, which are due in January.
An Academic Unit Consultation Form (PDF) must be completed and returned with the proposal.
- The Tenured Faculty Field Experience (PDF) Award is an opportunity for faculty to update their professional skills or understanding of their field by working in a professional environment outside the university.
- The Tenured/Tenure Track Faculty Professional Development (PDF) Award offers junior faculty support for a scholarly project in one's discipline.
- The Tenured/Tenure Track Faculty Teaching Development (PDF) Award offers support for a project related to teaching. This Award is not for development of course materials or other routine preparations, even of a new course, but for scholarly inquiry related to teaching and learning.
- The Non-Tenure Track Faculty Field Experience (PDF) Award is an opportunity for qualified faculty to update their professional skills or understanding of their field by working in a professional environment outside the university.
- The Non-Tenure Track Faculty Teaching Development (PDF) Award offers support to qualified faculty for a project related to teaching. This Award is not for development of course materials or other routine preparations, even of a new course, but for scholarly inquiry related to teaching and learning.
Faculty who are selected for these awards are not eligible for any other appointments during the summer; this includes other University research or teaching awards as well as summer teaching. Examples of funded proposals are on reserve in each regional campus library and online.
