Academic Services & Developmental Education
The Regional Campuses are committed to provide opportunities for all students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for student academic success within our open admission environment.
Academic Services and Developmental Education enhance and monitor a continuum of support structures and services to encourage student retention and promote academic success. These structures and services can vary across campuses and include some or all of the following: basic skills assessment, placement, advising, developmental courses, tutorial services, and other student success initiatives such as university orientation courses and new student orientation activities. These activities are carried out in collaboration with other professionals and departments on campus and are coordinated to promote student academic success.
The university offers developmental courses in English (ENG 11001), reading strategies (US 10003), study strategies (US 10006), and mathematics (MATH 10004 and 10005.) These courses were designed to assist students to develop the basic academic skills necessary to succeed at the university.
Each campus has an Academic Service Coordinator. The coordinator can be contacted for more information about Academic Services and Developmental Education at the campus.
