Kent State Faculty encouraged to attend SBIR 101 Workshop on October 5

Posted Sep. 21, 2010

The Division of Research and Sponsored Programs encourages faculty members who plan to collaborate with small businesses (or are considering a start-up) to attend "SBIR 101", a Small Business Innovation Research Grant Workshop, on Tuesday, October 5 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon at the Kent Student Center, Room 306A.  There is no cost to attend and a continental breakfast will be served.   Please R.S.V.P. by September 30 to Sheila Pratt, 330-672-0701, spratt@kent.edu.

This half-day workshop, focused on health-related grants, covers the $2.3 billion dollar federal SBIR/STTR program basics, including: program purpose; eligibility; and federal agency sources of funding (such as NIH, CDC, DOD, and NSF). The workshop is targeted to a broad audience that is still exploring the SBIR/STTR program. It is designed to provide enough information for attendees to determine if they would like to seriously pursue proposal development.

This workshop is sponsored by Kent State University Division of Research and Sponsored Programs and BioEnterprise.
