IRB FAQ Education Requirements CITI
CITI is an acronym for Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. The CITI program is a subscription service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community. The fee is paid by KSU for you to complete the training.
Online CITI training is required for ALL KSU researchers conducting human subject research. This includes

Principal Investigators and Co-investigators

Students
-
Faculty advisers for students conducting research

Faculty requiring students to conduct research for a course

Visiting scholars

Usually not. Most institutions recognize and accept CITI. Training is valid for three years and after that you must complete the refresher course.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The KSU Compliance Office can only access KSU records. If you are coming from another institution you must present your certificate to us.

Yes. A KSU email is not required to complete the training.
The KSU IRB accepts NIH Protecting Human Research Participants training certificates.
