Grants.Gov

GRANTS.GOV is a portal designed to locate and apply for funding from federal agencies. Grants.gov has been designed to make it easier for organizations to find and apply for more than $500 billion in federal grants. With electronic access to more than 1,000 grant programs offered by all federal grant-making agencies, Grants.gov leverages the power of the Web to streamline your grant acquisition process.
Registration
The University is registered with grants.gov. Individual PI registration in grants.gov is NOT required. However, several agencies require you to register on agency-specific websites for electronic grant applications. NIH, for example, requires that Principal Investigators be registered in the NIH Commons prior to submission via grants.gov. Check to see if you will need to register with your funding agencies.
Software Requirements
- Grants.gov requires use of a free proprietary software package, PureEdge Viewer, to download application packages. To download the viewer, click here.
- Once the PureEdge Viewer is downloaded, application packages can be downloaded, viewed, and edited.
- As the application package is a free-standing set of documents that resides on a computer, Sponsored Programs will add required information and attachments to a 'master' copy of the application package. If the grant opportunity is eligible for a Coeus system-to-system submission, Sponsored Programs will work with the Principal Investigator to ensure the appropriate documents are uploaded into Coeus and then submitted through the Grants.gov system.
- Per University policy, proposals "shall reach the authorizing official in final form at least five days before the relevant agency deadline." We must have completed proposals five days prior to the submission deadline. If you submit anytime later, there may not be sufficient lead-time to accommodate your request.
