Tutoring Services

Academic Success Center:  Whether you need tutoring in a specific course, extra instruction in a course that is particularly difficult, help with developing study strategies, or want to update your computer skills, the Academic Success Center is the first place you should contact (during the first week of classes each semester) to apply for assistance.

Writing Commons:  Offers comprehensive writing tutoring that includes, help starting papers, learning to proofread, overcoming writers block, helping students find resources, creating a thesis statement among other aspects of writing.

Counseling Services

Counseling & Human Development Center:  Comfortable and professional, the center represents an opportunity to pursue progress, healing, or education relating to your concerns. All services are provided free of cost to Kent State students, staff and faculty and at a very little cost to the community.

Psychological Clinic: The Psychological Clinic is the training site for graduate students in the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology in the Department of Psychology at Kent State University. Services including individual counseling and psychological testing are provided by master and doctoral students under the close supervision of clinical faculty members who are licensed psychologists.

Psychological Services:  Students contact Psychological Service for a variety of reasons, but typical concerns include: academic difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, questions regarding sexuality, feelings of loneliness, lack of self confidence, interpersonal difficulties, and eating disorders.

Medical Services

University Health Services:  Offers comprehensive outpatient services, including office visits, radiology, physical therapy, and women's clinic; 24-hour nurse helpline; Office of Health Promotion; and Psychological Services.

KSU Bookstore:  Kent State University Campus bookstore provides students with more than the required textbooks. The bookstore offers Kent State clothing and logo merchandise as well as other academic supplies.

Office of the Student Ombuds:  The Student Ombuds assists students in resolving university-relate problems, concerns and grievances. The office provides individualized information and referrals, as well as confidential consultation.

Parking Services:  Parking Services is responsible for providing well-maintained parking lots, regulated parking areas, special event parking and on-campus assistance to stranded motorists. Parking Services also manages parking permits for Kent State faculty, staff and students.

PARTA:  The Portage Area Regional Transit Authority is a bus service serving the Kent Campus and surrounding community. PARTA provides three on-campus routes: the Campus Loop, Allerton, and Stadium/Front Campus. These routes are open to all students and visitors of the university.
