PARTA/Campus Bus Service:
Portage Area Regional Transit Authority (PARTA) is a bus service serving the Kent Campus and surrounding community. PARTA provides three on-campus routes: the Campus Loop, Allerton, and the Stadium/Front Campus. These routes are open to all students and visitors of the university.
Student Accessibility Transportation Services (SATS) is a student operated, door-to-door transportation service for students with disabilities and is a component of PARTA/Campus Bus Service. SATS' primary concern is transporting students with disabilities safely and on time. Weekday and Saturday service during the Fall and Spring semesters is provided to meet passenger's academic needs. SATS Policies are located in the 'Student Accessibility Transportation Services' section of PARTA's website.
Eligibility for SATS service for qualified students with disabilities is determined on a case-by-case basis. Any student with a temporary or permanent mobility impairment, who has received a state-issued disability placard, is eligible to obtain a Kent State University disability parking permit. The University requires all students who wish to utilize disability and/or general parking with their state-issued disability placard to purchase and display a Kent State University disability parking permit. Please contact Parking Services for further information on obtaining a disability parking permit.
