ScanPath Usability Lab

ScanPath usability lab is an entrepreneurial venture started in 2006 in the Information Architecture and Knowledge Management (IAKM) program in the School of Library and Information Science.

Our usability experts and state-of-the-art equipment — including eye tracking, multiple camera views and detailed analysis software â€”  can assess user behavior and interaction with a website to guide or improve its structure and architecture.

ScanPath uses the Tobii eye-tracking system, which follows a user’s eye  movements as they navigate through a website. The program maps out the way eyes glide over a website, with different sized dots signifying the amount of time the eyes linger on a point on the page.
