Health Informatics online open house
Posted Dec. 30, 2010The new Health Informatics concentration launches in Fall 2011. IAKM presented an online open house Tuesday, Nov. 30, at noon. The presentation is available for viewing on demand.
Health Informatics is the science that defines how health information is captured, analyzed, transmitted and managed. It focuses on information systems, informatics principles and information technology as it is applied to the continuum of health care delivery. Students may work toward a master's degree or certificate, or may take individual courses to supplement their professional development.
In the online open house, HI program coordinator Michael Bice spoke about the core concepts of the HI program. Janna Korzenko covered application requirements and other administrative items. The HI program at Kent State University is positioned strategically within the School of Library and Information Science as part of its Master of Science in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management (IAKM) program.
