Mentoring Program

The University Mentoring Program is an intrusive transition and retention support program designed to enhance the college and life management skills of under-represented students.

MentoringThe major goal of the program is to prepare students to intellectually, socially, culturally and spiritually meet the challenges of pursuing a degree. This is achieved by enhancing opportunities for success by assisting students from diverse backgrounds establish relationships which stimulate positive, professional and personal development, through interpersonal relationships in the form of a Mentoring Team.

The Mentoring Team consists of a faculty/staff mentor, peer mentor and mentee(s). The program addresses and impacts the academic, cultural, social and personal issues that traditionally impact under-represented students using a holistic approach to support enrollment, transition and retention.
