Turkey Trot 5K Run and Kids' Fun Run on Saturday, Nov. 21

Kent State University at Stark will host the annual Turkey Trot, an Adult 5K and a Kids’ ¼ Mile Fun Run, on Saturday, Nov. 21. The events will be held on Kent State Stark’s beautiful, 200-acre campus, located at 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.

The Kids’ Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration takes place on the day of the event, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The fee is $5 per person and may be paid on the day of the event. Payment is accepted by cash or check (payable to Kent State University at Stark). In addition to the monetary fee, each registrant should bring one non-perishable food item to benefit the Stark County Hunger Task Force. Participants in the Kids’ Run will receive a medal and make a craft to take home.

The Adult 5K Race begins at 9 a.m. Registration is required. The pre-pay fee, accepted through November 12, is $20 per person. From November 13-21, the fee is $25 per person. Register and pay online at www.kent.edu/stark/turkey-trot or on the day of the event, between 7:45-8:45 a.m. In addition to the monetary fee, each registrant should bring one non-perishable food item to benefit the Stark County Hunger Task Force. Free t-shirts will be given to 5K participants on a first-registered, first-served basis, while supplies last. The top male and female adult runners will each win a turkey.
