Shred-Mania March 22, 2017
Location: Ice Arena Parking Lot
RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste-reduction activities to their campus communities. On March 22, Kent State University’s Division of Human Resources will partner with the Office of Sustainability to host Shred Mania from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ice Arena Parking Lot. The Ice Arena address is 600 Loop Rd. Kent, OH. Documents from Kent State campus will contribute towards Kent State University's standings in RecycleMania.
Shred Mania is FREE and open to all students, faculty, staff and the Kent community*. *Community members are limited to 5 boxes of material to be shredded per person.
Shred Mania allows participants to recycle unwanted paper documents using a secured, onsite document destruction service.
Materials permitted at Shred Mania include:
- spiral notebooks
- hanging folders
- paper bags
Clips & Staples
It is not necessary to remove paper/binding clips or staples from your documents in order to have them shredded. All shredding will take place at the Administrative Services Building loading dock.
As a reminder, for Kent State University property, staff will need to follow university retention periods and complete a record destruction request PRIOR to shredding.
Everyone on campus can participate in RecycleMania and Shred Mania. While students and residence halls compete during this eight-week competition, faculty and staff also can join in this competition and even enter to win weekly prizes. The office with the most participation wins the grand prize and bragging rights.
