College of Technology-Student Handbook

Changing Majors

Students Changing Within the College of Technology
Students who are already majoring in the College of Technology must fill out an Internal Change of Major Request form. This form is available in the Student Services Office. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Services Office.

Students Changing from Another School/College
Students who are changing majors from another school/college must fill out an official university Request for Change of Program form. This is a triplicate form available in
the Student Services Office. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Services Office. Once processed, students will receive a copy at their permanent address. It will take approximately one week for the change to take effect.

Students must have a 2.0 accumulative grade point average to enter a major in the College of Technology. Students who wish to enter Flight Technology, Aviation Management, or Aeronautical Systems Engineering must have a 2.25 gpa. Students who do not have the required grade point average must wait until they achieve one. Students who submit a Request for Change of Program form without the required grade point average will be denied. However, this does not prevent them from taking courses or obtaining advising in the College of Technology. As soon as they achieve the required grade point average, they can immediately fill out a Request for Change of Program form.

Students changing schools/colleges MUST follow the catalog requirements in effect at the time of the change of major. Example: A student who entered the College of Business in Fall 2000 decided to switch his major to the College of Technology in February 2003. He is then required to follow the 2002-2003 Undergraduate Catalog for all his degree requirements in Technology. This will be indicated on the change of program form.
