Cooperative Education / Internships

Cooperative education permits students with technical jobs and internships to earn credit toward their degree requirements. Assigned faculty mentors will supervise the students. Students earn a grade for the cooperative education class. Students must have at least 30 credit hours and a 2.25 accumulative grade point average to enroll in the following courses:

  • TECH 33056 - Cooperative Education-Professional Development: students can take this course for 1-6 credit hours in a semester, and repeat it for a total of 6 credit hours
  • TECH 45092 - Aeronautical Internship/Cooperative Education: students can take this course for 1-2 credit hours in a semester, and repeat it for a total of 6 credit hours

To enroll for these courses, students must complete the Course Enrollment Authorization form. The supervising faculty member must sign this form. This form is available on our website at www.tech.kent.edu/Pages/Forms.asp or in the Student Services Office. Completed forms should be returned to the Student Services Office. The Student Services Office will then enroll the student in the course. If it is after the drop/add period, please see the section regarding Registration Exceptions.
