Kent State University offers the Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education Technology (ECET). The program addresses the concerns of today's families and focuses on the unique needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
The goal of ECET is to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to implement developmentally appropriate practices as they relate to each child's development. The ECET program is committed to valuing all children, regardless of ability or background. In addition, the program values the families and communities from which children come.
Both career-specific and general studies courses are included in the curriculum to enable students to grow professionally and personally. An associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education Technology will be granted following successful completion of the 68 semester hours of required coursework. After completion of the associate degree, students are eligible to apply for the associate pre-kindergarten license through the State of Ohio.
