Current CCP Students

Once admitted to the CCP program, students should use FlashLine and check kent.edu email frequently to stay informed of important deadlines. Here you'll find basic information and useful links.

Accessing FlashLine

Go to welcome.kent.edu and follow the prompts to get a password and set up your FlashLine account.

  • Your KSU email address and Student ID number were included in your acceptance letter.

  • After initial set-up, you can access Flashline from any kent.edu webpage by clicking the lightning bolt icon in the upper right of the screen.

Scheduling Classes

Registration typically begins in March for Summer classes, May for Fall classes and November for Spring classes. CCP registration begins at Open Registration on the Your Time to Register chart. Current CCP students will receive email updates regarding scheduling advising appointments. New CCP students will meet with the CCP advisor for an individual advising appointment for the initial registration. Limited individual appointments will be available for returning CCP students, thus returning CCP students are encouraged to follow registration instructions received by email.

Getting Help

CCP students who need academic assistance are encouraged to first talk with their professors and then to utilize the campus' Tutoring Services and Writing Center. Seek help before falling behind in classes! Student success tips are available to assist students in transitioning to college-level work.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

SAS provides accommodations, consultation and advocacy for qualified students with disabilities at Kent State University. We work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to create an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities.

Technology Support

The campus' Network Services Help Desk is located in the Cyber Cafe in the upstairs of Founders Hall. Additionally, students can request support for FlashLine, Blackboard, off-campus connections, Office 365, KSU email and other topics by visiting the Tech Help website or calling the University Help Desk at 330-672-HELP. The Help Desk is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

FlashCard

CCP students should obtain a FlashCard after the initial registration. The FlashCard serves as identification on campus and can be loaded with funds used to pay for copies and printing on campus as well as for food at the Flashes Bistro and supplies in the Campus Bookstore. Money can be loaded onto the card using the C-Board machine located just outside the Campus Bookstore in Founders Hall. Students must have a valid ID and a copy of their current course schedule to obtain a FlashCard at the Network Services Help Desk in the upstairs of Founders Hall.

Textbooks & Course Materials

CCP students should consult with their high school to determine how books and materials are to be obtained. Some high schools purchase materials on their own and some use the campus bookstore. Please do as instructed by your high school! Pay attention to your high school's deadlines and process for requesting and returning materials. Students can determine what books and materials are required for their courses by logging in to FlashLine, then clicking Student>Courses and Registration>View or Print Schedule and Purchase Textbooks.

If your high school uses the campus bookstore, books will be available two weeks before classes begin each semester. Be sure to present your FlashCard and current course schedule when visiting the bookstore.

Attendance

Regular attendance is vital to CCP students' success. Students should make every effort to attend every class session. If you are going to miss a class, inform your professor and follow his/her attendance policy as stated in the course syllabus. You are subject to all policies stated in the syllabus and will be treated the same as every other student in the class regardless of your CCP status. Absences and other class issues should be addressed with the professor directly and are not reported to the CCP Advisor.

Grades

Grades will be posted on your FlashLine account at midterm and after finals each semester. To determine when grades will be available, view Grade and Transcript Processing Dates. To view your grades, log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Resources>Grades and Transcripts>View Final Grades OR View Midterm Grades.

Requesting Your Transcript

If you need to have your transcript sent to a scholarship committee, another college or your home, you may make the request using FlashLine. Log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Resources>Grades and Transcripts>Request Official Transcript. To print an unofficial copy of your transcript, log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Grades and Transcripts>View Unofficial Transcript. This will display the names and course numbers for classes you've taken as well as your grades, cumulative and semester GPA, and in-progress courses.

CCP Advisor

The CCP Advisor at Kent State Tuscarawas is Melissa Crites (330-339-3391, macrites@kent.edu). She is located in the Student Services Office of Founders Hall (A125). Appointments can be made online at www.kent.edu/tusc/academic-advising. Please note that appointments are limited to students who have received a CCP acceptance letter only! Your CCP Advisor is here to provide support in transitioning to college and assist you in choosing classes that may apply to your chosen educational path. Be sure to consult with your high school counselor regarding graduation requirements, maximum credit hour eligibility and athletic eligibility.

Returning as a CCP Student in Subsequent Years

Please watch your KSU email in February for details regarding the continuation process for returning students.

Attending After High School

If you are interested in attending Kent State Tuscarawas after graduating from high school, you will need to apply for admission as a New Freshman at www.kent.edu/tusc/apply. In order to meet the priority deadline for admission and scholarship consideration, apply by February 1 of your senior year. You will need to submit an updated high school transcript as well. You will need to attend the KAR (KSU Advising and Registration) program for new freshmen to schedule your classes for your first semester as a traditional student. Watch your email for details!
