Registration typically begins in March for Summer classes, May for Fall classes and November for Spring classes. CCP registration begins at Open Registration on the Your Time to Register chart. Current CCP students will receive email updates regarding scheduling advising appointments. New CCP students will meet with the CCP advisor for an individual advising appointment for the initial registration. Limited individual appointments will be available for returning CCP students, thus returning CCP students are encouraged to attend group advising sessions held in Founders Hall A110. Group sessions are the perfect opportunity for early and efficient registration! Group sessions are limited to students only and must be scheduled through the Student Services receptionist in Founders Hall or by calling 330-339-3391. Online registration is blocked for CCP students as advising is required.
CCP students who need academic assistance are encouraged to first talk with their professors and then to utilize the campus' Tutoring Services and Writing Center. Seek help before falling behind in classes! Student success tips are available to assist students in transitioning to college-level work.
SAS provides accommodations, consultation and advocacy for qualified students with disabilities at Kent State University. We work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to create an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities.
The campus' Network Services Help Desk is located in the Cyber Cafe in the upstairs of Founders Hall. Additionally, students can request support for FlashLine, Blackboard, off-campus connections, Office 365, KSU email and other topics by visiting the Tech Help website or calling the University Help Desk at 330-672-HELP. The Help Desk is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
CCP students should obtain a FlashCard after the initial registration. The FlashCard serves as identification on campus and can be loaded with funds used to pay for copies and printing on campus as well as for food at the Kent Cafe and supplies in the Campus Bookstore. Money can be loaded onto the card in the Academic Learning Commons (Library) or via the student's FlashLine account. Students must have a valid ID and a copy of their current course schedule to obtain a FlashCard at the Network Services Help Desk in the upstairs of Founders Hall.
All newly enrolled students receive a BankMobile card via postal mail. This is the method through which Kent State University issues refunds to students who have excess money on their student accounts each semester. It is not likely that a CCP student would receive a refund from the University. However, you should keep this card in a safe place for future use. If you choose to enroll at any of Kent State's campuses following graduation, the BankMobile card will become useful to you.
CCP students should consult with their high school to determine how books and materials are to be obtained. Some high schools purchase materials on their own and some use the campus bookstore. Please do as instructed by your high school! Pay attention to your high school's deadlines and process for requesting and returning materials. Students can determine what books and materials are required for their courses by logging in to FlashLine, then clicking Student>Dashboard>View or Print Schedule and Purchase Textbooks.
If your high school uses the campus bookstore, books will be available two weeks before classes begin each semester. Be sure to present your FlashCard and current course schedule when visiting the bookstore.
Regular attendance is vital to CCP students' success. Students should make every effort to attend every class session. If you are going to miss a class, inform your professor and follow his/her attendance policy as stated in the course syllabus. You are subject to all policies stated in the syllabus and will be treated the same as every other student in the class regardless of your CCP status. Absences and other class issues should be addressed with the professor directly and are not reported to the CCP Advisor.
Grades will be posted on your FlashLine account at midterm and after finals each semester. To determine when grades will be available, view Grade and Transcript Processing Dates. To view your grades, log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Resources>Grades and Transcripts>View Final Grades OR View Midterm Grades.
If you need to have your transcript sent to a scholarship committee, another college or your home, you may make the request using FlashLine. Log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Resources>Grades and Transcripts>Request Official Transcript. If you are sending it to another PUBLIC college in Ohio, you can choose Electronic Delivery. If not, choose US Postal Service delivery and enter the specific address to which you'd like it sent. To print an unofficial copy of your transcript, log in to your FlashLine account, then click Student>Dashboard>View Unofficial Transcript. This will display the names and course numbers for classes you've taken as well as your grades, cumulative and semester GPA, and in-progress courses.
The CCP Advisor at Kent State Tuscarawas is Melissa Crites (330-339-3391, firstname.lastname@example.org). She is located in the Admissions & Student Services Office of Founders Hall (A125). Appointments can be made via the receptionist by calling 330-339-3391. Be sure to consult with your high school guidance counselor regarding graduation requirements, maximum credit hour eligibility and athletic eligibility.
It is required that CCP students apply for admission to the program every year. Application deadlines are April 1 for Summer, May 1 for Fall, and October 1 for Spring admission. When applying to return as a CCP student for the second, third, etc. year, you will need to complete the online application (if applying as a Returning User, you will need the application system user name and PIN you created for your initial application), provide an updated high school transcript and submit the CCP Permission Form.
If you are interested in attending Kent State Tuscarawas after graduating from high school, you will need to apply for admission as a New Freshman at www.kent.edu/tusc/apply. In order to meet the priority deadline for admission and scholarship consideration, apply by February 1 of your senior year. You will need to submit an updated high school transcript as well. You will most likely not need to attend the SOAR program for new freshmen but rather will schedule an appointment with your assigned academic advisor upon acceptance. Watch your mail for details!
