College for Kids 25th Anniversary

College for Kids returns to Kent State University at Tuscarawas for the 25th year for the week of June 22 - 26. This year’s session offers 10 fun and interesting youth enrichment classes for students who were in first through sixth grades during the 2014-15 school year. The five-day session offers courses from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. 

New classes on this year’s schedule include Digital Photography and Photo Editing, Web Design for Kids, Chocolate Fever and I “Sea” Art. Returning favorites are Awesome Taekwondo, Laboratory Fun and Who Dunnit?, Kids in the Kitchen and Snakes, Turtles, Frogs and Lizards.  Also back for the second year is Jumbie Jammin’, a class about an authentic steel drum that is fun to play and easy to learn. Jeff Phillips, director of the New Philadelphia Steel Drum Band, will teach the students the history of the instrument and how to play it.
