Regional Bridge Building Contest Winners

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Engineering Technology Department held the Regional Bridge Building Contest for area high school students on Feb. 26. Students participated from the following schools: Claymont High School, Dover High School, Indian Valley High School and Tuscarawas Valley High School. Lucas Whitmer won first place and Nate Akerman placed second. Both students are from Tuscarawas Valley High School.

The submitted entries were judged by members of the Tuscarawas Valley Society of Professional Engineers. There were 98 bridges submitted by individual students. All students were given a participation award. In addition, the first and second place winners will be given the opportunity to compete in the International Contest to be held in Portland, OR.
