SBDC to Offer Free Encore 50+ Seminar

The Ohio Small Business Development Center (OSBDC) at Kent State University at Tuscarawas is offering an Encore 50+ Informational Seminar Aug. 12 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Canal Tavern in Zoar. The event is free and includes a complimentary breakfast.

Topics covered during the session include Learning if Entrepreneurship is Right for You, and Testimonials of Entrepreneurs Who are 50 Years of Age or Older. Attendees will also receive an entrepreneurial resource guide, and have an opportunity to ask questions.

“The Ohio Small Business Development Center is very pleased to be able to offer this informational session for the first time in our service area,” said Steve Schillig, OSBDC district director. “According to The Kauffman Foundation, an organization that studies entrepreneurship, the age group starting the greatest number of new businesses is 55 to 64. Our event will provide an opportunity for those attending to learn more about business ownership, is it right for them and if so what steps are needed to move forward.”

In addition to the OSBDC, program cosponsors include Kent State Tuscarawas Business and Community Services, PNC Bank, American Electric Power and the Small Business Administration.

For more information or to register for the Seminar, contact the OSBDC at 330.308.7522 or email dmspencer@kent.edu.
