Web and Internal Communications Team
University Communications and Marketing provides professional consultation and resources designed to assist the communications and marketing efforts of programs and departments throughout Kent State University's eight-campus network. This includes Web support by these UCM staffers:

Lin Danes, Manager, Electronic Communication and Web Content Services
Lin Danes
earned a bachelor’s in communication from Clarion University. Prior to joining UCM in 2000, she served as a communications specialist at Summa Health System, writer/Webmaster for Harker Inc. and continuity director for WYFM radio. She has been nominated for six Kent State Distinguished Staff Awards and earned communications awards from IABC and the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, Media Awards Program.

Cathie Hurd

Catherine R. Hurd, Senior Electronic Editorial Specialist
Catherine Hurd earned a B.A. in professional writing and editing with an emphasis in electronic communications from Youngstown State University. She joins UCM from the Division of Research and Graduate Studies at Kent State. Before coming to the university, she taught multimedia courses at Youngstown State University and worked as a multimedia designer/developer for a sales company in Lordstown, Ohio. Cathie is currently pursuing a master's in information architecture and knowledge management.

Tim Priester

Tim Priester, Coordinator, Electronic Communication and Web Content Services
Tim Priester
 was previously the director of Web communications for an internet sales company in northeast Ohio where he maintained corporate Web sites and coordinated the company’s e-newsletter. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in professional writing and editing with an emphasis in electronic communications from Youngstown State University in 2004.
