Location: White Hall, Room 212

Academic Computing Support (ACS) serves students, faculty and administrative offices in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services. ACS offers two dimensions of support: 1) the provision of instructional resources and 2) the provision of faculty development and web/course development. With input from the Technology Advisory Council, ACS also directs long-range plans for implementing new technologies and stimulating effective use of such technologies by faculty and students.

Most of the resources provided by ACS are facilitated by our Technology Learning Center (TLC), which houses and lends out an extensive print and software collection, several digital cameras and camcorders, data projectors, two mobile computer labs, faculty reserves, print production materials and educational/psychological assessments and protocols. The TLC also offers open computing, electronic fingerprinting (for a fee) and a variety of consumables for purchase. In addition to the services provided by the TLC, ACS supports six permanent computer labs, more than 20 classrooms and individual computing for nearly 500 faculty and staff.

ACS provides faculty development through individual consultations, group demonstrations and workshops in various multimedia and software applications. A team of educational technologists is available to assist in course development, especially as it involves web-enhancement or multimedia support. Having experience and expertise in web design, course management systems and pedagogy, team members can offer informed assistance in the design and development of innovative learning experiences.
