2013
Golden Sabre Award
Kent State University earned a Gold SABRE Award for its “Experience for Life†television campaign at the Americas 2013 SABRE Awards that took place on May 7 in New York City. The SABRE Awards is the world’s largest and most-sought after public relations awards competition that recognizes superior achievement in branding and reputation. More than 800 public relations and marketing industry leaders attended the awards gala.
Kent State won the award for excellence in the Corporate Reputation/Institutional Image category, edging out four other nominees — Time Warner, Harvard Business School, the Bayer Group, and Kongsberg. The university shares the award with its agency of record Fahlgren Mortine in Columbus, Ohio, that helped to produce the “Experience for Life†television commercials.

PIANKO Print Excellence Awards
Kent State University designed pieces won two Print Excellence awards from the Printing Industries of North Kentucky and Ohio.

Communicator Awards
Kent State University won six Communicator Awards from the International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA).
Gold Awards - Kent State’s “Experience for Life†television commercials and three print advertisements
Silver Awards - “Experience for Life†single-page advertisement, the Kent State University interactive website, the “Destination Kent State†direct mail campaign and the Center for Corporate and Professional Development Marketing materials.
Educational Advertising Awards
Six Educational Advertising Awards from the Higher Education Marketing Report. This is the largest educational advertising competition in the country.
Silver Award - Newspaper Advertising - “I Can Do That†for the College of Public Health.
Bronze Awards - “Experience for Life†advertising series and for the total public relations programs to Celebrate Centennial: Kent State In Its 100th Year.
Three Merit Awards - Kent State’s Season of Celebration Card, the university’s redesigned website and the single spot television ad for “Experience for Life.â€
