University Communications and Marketing provides professional consultation and resources designed to assist the communications and marketing efforts of programs and departments throughout Kent State University's eight-campus network. This includes Web support by these UCM staffers:
Lin Danes, Director, Web Services and Interactive Media
Lin Danes earned a bachelor's in communication from Clarion University, with a ranking of magna cum laude. Prior to joining UCM in 2000, she served as a communications specialist at Summa Health System, writer/Webmaster for Harker Inc. and continuity director for WYFM radio. She has won the Kent State President's Excellence Award, was nominated for six Kent State Distinguished Staff Awards and has earned communications awards from Higher Ed Marketing, the Council of Advancement & Support for Education (CASE), IABC and the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, Media Awards Program.
Tyler Clark, Interactive Designer and Developer
Tyler Clark received a B.A. in Music History and Literature from Youngstown State University in 1998 before changing course into digital marketing. Tyler served as a consultant to YSU in their selection of a CMS platform and in the development of its implementation strategy. He is a frequent speaker on search engine optimization and social media marketing, and he writes a monthly column for The Business Journal. Past projects include work for Panera Bread, Verizon Long Distance and Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Chris Hallahan, Interactive Designer and Developer
Chris Hallahan has been with Kent State University since 2004, first as a student, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Electronic Media and his master's degree in User Experience Design. He became a full-time staff member in 2010 as a user support analyst with Information Services, where he helped enhance online, phone and in-person technology support, communications and marketing. Chris joined the University Communications and Marketing Web Team in November 2012.
Tim Priester, Interactive Designer and Developer
Tim Priester earned a bachelor's degree in Professional Writing and Editing with an emphasis in electronic communications from Youngstown State University in 2004. Before joining the Kent State web team in June 2008 as Coordinator, Electronic Communications and Web Content Services, Tim was the Director of Web Communications for a home decor company based in northeast Ohio where he maintained the corporate website and e-newsletter.
