New URLs After Web Redesign

Starting in September 2009 many Kent State faculty and staff began working hard to launch new Web sites using CommonSpot, the university's content management system, which has been provided to the university community at no charge by the Division of Information Services and is administered by Information Services and University Communications and Marketing.

Chances are that even if you have recently launched your Web site, you need to audit and reset links because many other sites were likely to have launched after the launch of your departmental Web site.

Please note: although many Web sites appear to have the same home page url as they did previously, the pages within each site have different urls. For example, the Bursar’s Tuition and Fees schedule now resides at: http://www.kent.edu/bursar/termdetail/tuition-fee-schedules.cfm. If you don’t update these internal links, your Web site visitors will receive error pages.

If your departmental Web site linked to pages in any of the previous Web sites listed below, your Web site content manager will need to update the respective links to ensure that Web site visitors enjoy their Web session and want to return.

Several other core sites, such as Policy Register, Human Resources, Registrar’s and Faculty Senate will launch by the end of this month. Watch for an update at that time.
