Greetings and welcome to Undergraduate Studies!  Your acceptance and entrance into this historic institution reflects your seriousness and desire to be "great".  You are about to embark on another phase of your journey toward adulthood.  It will be an experience that will serve to shape and mold the very future of your life.

While you have been accepted to Kent State University, you are also a part of the Undergraduate Studies family.  Our division, from our Pillars program to our Exploratory Advising Center to our Academic Success Center, is designed to ensure your successful transition from high school to college.  Upon completion of Undergraduate Studies, you will be well prepared for your major field of study.

Kent is an academically challenging institution and ranks among the very best in the nation.  When you graduate from Kent you will be well prepared for post graduate study or assuming your place in your chosen field.  Extracurricular activities abound here and you will have the chance to participate in over 200 clubs and organizations that will help to develop your leadership and organizational skills.

In closing, I would like to leave you with these thoughts.  You enter Undergraduate Studies a little frightened, overwhelmed and apprehensive, but all around you your new family – Undergraduate Studies – is reaching out to help you.  All YOU have to do is extend your hand to meet us.  I hope you avail yourself to all Undergraduates Studies and Kent has to offer.  Please call upon me any time.
