Q. Why give to United Way?
A. The United Way is a non-profit agency who supports these goals by helping local organizations who work with those trying to realize their personal potential. A gift to the United Way of whatever size will be leveraged with other gifts to fund agencies in our campus communities or your local community.
Q. I prefer to make my donation using a paper form, is that possible?
A. Employees who do not wish to make their donation online may still use a paper form. The paper form may be obtained by clicking here.
Q. How can I make my gift to United Way?
A. Employees can make their gift to the United Way either with a one time donation or the convenient payroll deduction option. Simply follow the instructions on FlashLine self-service or use the paper form.
Q.What method of payment can I use for a one time donation?
A. One time donations can be made via payroll direction, credit card, personal check, or direct billing. Employees who wish to pay by credit card, personal check, or direct billing should print the paper form. Simply print the form and put it in an envelope with your check/credit card/direct billing information. All envelopes can be returned to your Campus Campaign Leadership who will return to the designated United Way Agency.
Q. Who is my campus United Way representative?
A. Each Kent State University campus has a designated United Way Chair. To find out who your United Way Chair is, visit the Campus Leadership link on this Web site.
Q. I am having difficulty making my pledge online. Is technical assistance available?
A. Technical Assistance can be obtained via the Helpdesk by calling 330-672-HELP (4357) or by submitting a help desk ticket at support.kent.edu.
Q. How do I designate my gift to a specific agency?
A. In FlashLine you will see the "Designations" line. Click on the "Agency Designation" link to lookup a specific agency. In the open field, type in the agencies to which you wish to designate your gift.
Q. I have made my donation via payroll deduction, when will my payroll deduction take effect?
A. All payroll deductions for the United Way will begin in the January 2013 paycheck.
