Supplier Diversity

The Kent Multimodal Transportation Center Planning Study is a project involving Kent State University and the City of Kent to determine the feasibility of a transit center serving the campus and downtown areas. This study will set out the purpose and need for the facility, examine alternatives, develop a schematic design for the preferred alternative, and identify funding opportunities for the project.

Kent State is at the beginning of pursuing federal transportation funds for this project. Part of the funding requirements are setting goals for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) involvement with Kent State University.

The Procurement Department supports a supplier diversity program that includes extensive outreach activities that encourage DBE participation.

Information about this program can be viewed at the Web site: http://www.kent.edu/procurement/welcome-supplier-diversity.cfm

Information regarding certified DBEs in the state, can be found at the Ohio DBE Unified Certification Program Web site: https://www.ohioucp.org/index.vm.
