A new company formed by a Kent State University researcher and inventor will market a technological innovation – flexible, electrically conductive transparent films – that can be used in electronic devices, including smart phones and touchscreens, and in windows that switch from transparent to opaque to block light.

Fork in the Road is a mobile food truck exclusively owned and operated by Kent State University Dining Services. The truck features gourmet comfort food executed by Executive Chef Christian Booher, and is available for the enjoyment of students and the public. Fork in the Road operates on the university’s campus and in the surrounding areas.

Kent State students and employees sign an I-beam that will be installed in the new building for the College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology. An event to welcome the addition of the college to the university’s Science Mall will take place April 23.

The Aeronautics and Technology Building, opening in spring 2015, will be the new facility for Kent State University’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology. The building is approximately 55,200 gross square feet and will include air traffic control training rooms in a lower level, classrooms and shop areas on the first floor, and faculty offices and classrooms on the second floor.

In early May, Kent State University's Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, in collaboration with the Fashion School, powered by the Division of Finance and Administration, hosted the Garment Games -- Inclusion By Design, a fashion sportswear design competition. The diversity event was developed to promote inclusion across all university campuses and surrounding communities and to celebrate and support the 2014 Gay Games (GG9) coming to Cleveland/Akron in early August.
Across Kent State University’s eight-campus system, 4,551 students graduated this spring, including those receiving associate degrees.
