Opportunities

The Wick Poetry Center offers many opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students at Kent State University. Most of the Center’s programs and activities are supported by a graduate Wick Poetry Fellow and four-six graduate Wick Poetry Assistants, who provide over 100 hours of work per week for the Center. Undergraduate and graduate work-study students provide additional support.

In addition, the Center offers the Wick Arizona Graduate Fellowships:  Established in summer 2006, the Wick Arizona Fellowships have supported an annual travel/study course for selected students in the NEOMFA program.  Students in any genre are selected to participate in a three-week intensive workshop led by poet and Wick Poetry Center director, Maggie Anderson.  Participants spend two weeks on the Kent campus and the middle week in Bisbee, Arizona at the home of Robert and Estellean Wick.  All expenses for travel plus a small stipend are provided by the Wicks. Tuition waivers are provided by the four universities of the NEOMFA consortium.
