Telling It Like It Is

It’s easy to question the validity of an area of academia you possess little knowledge on.
The lack of attention the Women’s Studies Program at KSU gets is not a reflection on its legitimacy,
but rather the ignorance of the university. 

To say that this program has provided me with anything less than an incredible interdisciplinary look
at women’s issues, rights, lives, etc. would be devastatingly inaccurate. 
The program lends itself to a very broad spectrum of courses to take to fit your personal interests. 
Double majoring in English and Psychology, being able to complement those two areas
with a minor in Women’s Studies has been nothing short of rewarding for me. 
I have been completely inspired by this program; so much so that next fall,
I’ll be pursuing a graduate degree in Women’s Studies. 
I hope to get involved with a program and teach as a graduate student,
then continue on to get my PhD, eventually becoming a professor. 
I think it’s tremendous.  I’m just completely enthralled by the growing interest in Women’s Studies;
it’s just unavoidably relevant. 
The voice this program gives to women is something that cannot be silenced,

so please—help make it louder.

Thanks for a great semester.  You are a wonderful professor, and I enjoyed your class.
The wide variety of new topics discussed made me
open my mind and look at things from a different perspective.

I have throughly enjoyed all the Hepburn films we viewed over these weeks,
enjoyed getting to know her as an actress. 
The movies and discussions have changed forever how I will  view movies. 
Your thoughts and comments have really been provocative,
fun, eye-opening. and I hope my journals and discussions have given you
some ideas and thoughts as well.  I wish I'd been able to
take more classes of yours, had I known about them earlier in my college career. 
However, I am graduating so I will not get the pleasure
but I truly, truly enjoyed this class.

Wow. As I have taken the time to reflect on this project today, I have realized many things.
I am so grateful I was given this opportunity.
I wish I could express into words what I have learned from this project, but it is just not possible.
Being in the action firsthand ... talking to people, doing the real "ground-work was what made me fall in love with this project.

I am proud of this, and I stand by it, as many issues about gender identities and
true politics came full circle.
... this is one of the first projects I have ever done
where I was actually excited to work on it.
