Mission Statement: 

• As the university writing center, the Writing Commons supports KSU students at all levels and in every academic discipline with any projects that include writing.
• We assist writers at every stage of the composing and revising process.
• We help writers at every level of proficiency to experience the satisfaction of developing effective written communication.

• Kent State’s Writing Commons Partners With Area High Schools The Writing Commons at Kent State University is partnering with local high schools to help their students become college- and career-ready writers.
  
• Writing Commons Participates in Professional Conference - Spring 2013 Seven members of the Writing Commons made presentations on their research at the annual conference of the East Central Writing Centers Association.
  
• Writing Commons Hosts Workshop for Area Schools - Spring 2013 Tutors at the Writing Commons facilitated a workshop for high school students nominated by their teachers to become writing center tutors in their schools on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
  
• Writing Commons Helps High School Students Become College and Career Ready - Spring 2013 The Writing Commons has developed and will oversee new writing centers in four area hgh schools: Aurora, Tallmadge, Stow-Munroe Falls, and Kent-Roosevelt with funding from a Race to the Top grant.
