Writing Commons Presents Workshops in Scientific Writing, September 2011

Posted Sep. 16, 2011

Writing Commons Senior Tutors Jessica Kreiger, Jonathan Tietz, and Allison Machnicki will present their Scientific Writing Workshop series in two parts and in several locations on campus in the next few weeks.

Everyone is welcome. The workshops will help students with all aspects of the research and writing process for papers in the sciences.

This free workshop will focus on the differences between "regular" writing and scientific writing, how to think like a scientist (and therefore write like one!), and will explain how to use the online research databases PubMed, Web of Science, Reaxys, and SciFinder.

Learn what comprises effective scientific writing, how to approach the writing process, the various types of documents you’ll likely encounter, and how to find/use references.

Monday, September 19, 6:00 - 7:30 PM,  Writing Commons

Tuesday, September 20, 6:00-7:30 PM,  Writing Commons

Participants are encouraged to bring laptops and/or any writing they are working on!
