First-Year Kent Campus Student Requirements
Admission to the Kent Campus as a first-year student is selective. The Admissions Office uses multiple factors to carefully review each applicant and make our admissions decisions.
Admissions Criteria & Requirements
To apply to the Kent Campus as a first-year applicant, you should:
- Be in your senior year of high school OR hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent degree.
- Never have enrolled at a college or university after graduating from high school.
- Apply for admission using the Kent State Application or the Common Application.
- Pay the non-refundable $50 application fee.

You should prepare the following items to submit to Kent State for consideration.

- Aug. 1 Applications Open
- Nov. 1 Priority Application Deadline
- Feb. 15 Application Deadline for Merit Scholarship Consideration
- May 1 National College Decision Day
Your application and all required materials must be submitted seven days before the start of the semester.
