LaunchPad Awards

Through a competitive request for proposals, the Healthy Communities Research Institute awards seed grants to promising research projects proposed by interdisciplinary teams across the Kent State University community. These grants are intended to support early research efforts in acquiring preliminary data upon which the team can build further research and propose more robust projects. Below you will find information on the projects awarded the HCRI seed grants. The RFP process typically begins in mid-April. If you are interested in seed grant opportunities, please get in touch with the HCRI Director so that you can be added to the HCRI listserv, where seed grant announcements will be posted.

Small Grants

In conjunction with the other Kent State University Institutes, the Healthy Communities Research Institute offers pilot funding to faculty members. Research proposals can only be submitted to one institute through this funding mechanism. Small Grant recipients can be considered for supplemental funding from the University Research Council (URC). HCRI prioritizes funding high-quality research projects that address the mission of our institute.
