New York City, Spring Break Trip 2018
Announcing NYC 2018. Join your fellow international students for the trip of the year - spring break in New York City. Explore the largest city in the United States with friends and advisors from the Office of Global Education. Travel by motor coach, leaving Wednesday, March 28 and returning Saturday, March 31. The cost is $200 for students assessed the International Student Activity Fee ($540 for students not assessed the fee), and includes transportation, lodging, daily breakfast, and a 3-day Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour ticket.

Transportation to and from New York City will be provided via a chartered, motor coach bus. Restrooms are available on the bus during the trip.
Lodging will be provided by Paramount NYC (235 W 46th St New York, NY. ).Located 1/2 block from Times Square, this location will make it an easy home away from home while exploring the city. Amenities include: local, long-distance, and international phone calls; high-speed wireless internet access for unlimited devices, concierge service; access to the 24/7 Fitness Center (treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, and free weights); discount on Hamilton merchandise. Students will stay in 4-person rooms (2 double beds per room). Roommates can be requested after registration by emailing the trip coordinator.
Continental breakfast daily is included. Our group leaders will organize meals throughout the time we are in New York City; guests are welcome to join the group or venture out on their own.
Bus Tour Information
Each attendee will receive a 72-hour sight seeing bus pass upon arrival to NYC. The bus provides hop-on, hop-off access to many areas of New York City. Audio tours are available in 11 languages. Tours include: Uptown, Downtown, Times Square, Brooklyn, and a NYC Night Tour. The bus sightseeing bus can also simply be used for transportation – buses run regularly and riders can get on and off the bus at any bus stop throughout the day.
Choose your own adventure in New York City! Group leaders will lead excursions each day. Attendees are encouraged to meet up with the group, but are also able to create their own groups and explore together.
The following is a sample itinerary for NYC 2018. Items in bold are required; all else is optional.
8 a.m. Meet at Van Campen Hall, load the bus and depart for New York City
4 p.m. Arrive to NYC, Hotel check-in, get settled at the hotel and finalize plans for the next few days.
6 p.m. Dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner
Evening Explore Times Square
8:30 a.m. Breakfast at The Row
9 a.m. Depart for Lower Manhattan
9:30 a.m. 9/11 Memorial and Museum Visit
12 p.m. Statue of Liberty (Liberty Island & Ellis Island)
2:30 p.m. Wall Street (take photos with the Charging Bull!)
3:30 p.m. Brooklyn Bridge
5:30 p.m. Dinner at Juliana’s Pizza (Brooklyn)
7 p.m. Return to Manhattan
8 p.m. Night Tour (included with your hop-on/ hop-off bus pass)
8:30 a.m. Breakfast at The Row
9 a.m. Depart for Upper Manhattan
9:30 a.m. Explore Central Park
11 a.m. Metropolitan Museum of Art
5 p.m. Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center)
7 p.m. Meet at the hotel to regroup and make evening plans with friends
8:30 a.m. Breakfast at the Row
9 a.m. Meet up with friends and decide how to see the last few attractions on your list before departure
11 a.m. Check out of the hotel
12 p.m. Leave NYC
8 p.m. Return to Kent State University
