Run the World: Florence

This year to celebrate Global Running Day (June 6, 2018), Kent State University- Florence students, faculty, staff, and friends will have the opportunity to run 5 kilometers in the name of Education Abroad Scholarships in Florence, Italy.

The Run the World project began in 2015 as a single 5K scholarship fundraiser, with a simple mission: raise money for education abroad scholarships for Kent State students, regardless of their major. In just three short years, the Run the World project has grown tremendously, expanding to our Stark campus in North Canton, Ohio and Florence Center in Florence, Italy in 2017. In 2018, the Run the World Race Series had more than 600 people register, and the foundation has been able to award over $35,000 in scholarships for education abroad.

Registration for Run The World-Florence is open to all students, faculty, staff, and friends of Kent State University's Florence Program. Students attending the Florence Summer Institute 2018 that register are eligible to win one of three $500 scholarships, which can be utilized during their time on the FSI-2018 program.

Not in Florence, Italy in June? Not a problem! You can register as a virtual participant* and still receive your swag!

*VIRTUAL PARTICIPANTS: Please use a fitness tracking app (Nike Run, My Fitness Pal, etc.) to track your run/walk. Take a screen shot of the distance once you are complete and post it to our Run the World Race Series Facebook page: . Deadline for registration and participation is July 06, 2018
