I am pleased to announce that we have launched a search for Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of Kent State University at Trumbull. The dean serves as chief academic and administrative officer, providing overall leadership and direction, with responsibility for all aspects of campus administration and operations. This includes campus outreach activities, financial management, academic and administrative policies and procedures, academic and non-academic programs, and physical plant operations and maintenance.

The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, as well as eight years of experience in program development, marketing, budget, personnel; experience as a faculty member; and an academic record sufficient to qualify for faculty appointment at senior rank. The position will begin on July 1, 2020.

Position Specifications

The minimum specifications to be considered as a candidate are:

  • A terminal degree in a relevant field;
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in program development, marketing, budget, and personnel management;
  • Experience as a faculty member;
  • An academic record sufficient to qualify for a faculty appointment at senior rank at Kent State University.

The preferred candidate would also have:

  • Experience with regional systems
  • A commitment to community engagement
  • A demonstrated advocacy for diversity
  • Long-term vision, with a proven record of successful implementation
