As of January 1, 2016, the DeWeese Health Center Pharmacy is only able to submit PHARMACY claims to CareMark and the KSU Student Health Insurance Plan.
The pharmacy at University Health Services fills prescriptions and provides over-the-counter medications to students, faculty and staff of Kent State University. In addition to the convenience provided to students, many items can be purchased at considerable cost savings.
Patients treated at University Health Services are not required to use the pharmacy at the DeWeese Health Center.
If we are unable to send pharmacy charges to your prescription insurance company, payment options are VISA, MasterCard, Discover, check, cash, FlashCash or billing your Student Account. Your prescription paperwork provided by the pharmacist should be saved for you to submit to your prescription insurance carrier for reimbursement.
If you would like to use your pharmacy insurance coverage and only pay your prescription copay, you may take your prescription to any of the community pharmacies.
Need medication refills before the end of the semester? Don't wait until the last minute. Please allow 48 hours for refill requests to be processed.
How to fill a prescription:
- Have your healthcare provider call in your prescription to the pharmacy so it can be filled when you arrive at the pharmacy.
- At this time we can process third party prescriptions for Caremark and the Student Health Insurance Plan. Please remember to bring your card with you to the pharmacy.
- To transfer a prescription from another pharmacy in the U.S., call or visit the pharmacy with your medication bottle.
- Many medications are less expensive at our pharmacy due to state contracts therefore the pharmacist may provide a quote for medications prior to their filling.
