Scholarships for Freshmen Outside of Ohio for Fall 2019

We admire the adventurous students who come to us from other states and we want to make Kent State affordable for you.

We offer a variety of scholarships to out-of-state students. The most common scholarships for new out-of-state freshmen at the Kent Campus are included in the chart below. Select the appropriate category for your test score and view the scholarship amount you qualify for based on your high school grade point average. You will be considered for these scholarships by submitting a complete application for admission to Kent State by Feb. 1, 2019.

Students who apply, are admitted and enroll in the Honors College are eligible for the amounts listed with the superscript “H” in table above. Scholarship amounts in the chart may include the Honors College, Trustee Scholarship, University Award and/or President's Award.  The Honors Scholarship amount included in the totals range from $1,000 to $5,000. Students will receive a detailed scholarship offer letter after they are admitted to Kent State University. 

To be considered for new freshmen scholarships at the Kent Campus, you must be a U.S. citizen, a full-time student and submit a complete application for admission (including high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores and application fee) by Feb. 1, 2019.  December 2018 is the last acceptable ACT/SAT test date for scholarship consideration.

Scholarship offers and award amounts will be determined by official testing and high school transcript information submitted to Kent State University at the time of application. 

Additionally, students who submit a complete application for admission to Kent State by Feb. 1, 2019 will be considered for the scholarship programs listed below.
